Private Kindergarten Program at The Woodlands, TX
A Varied Curriculum to Challenge Your Student
Our math curriculum includes Math Work Stations by Debbie Diller. Math Work Stations allow students to develop conceptual understanding and skills as well as use math vocabulary as they talk about their mathematical thinking and connect big ideas to meaningful independent exploration and practice. Key concepts are based on TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).
This diversified and well-rounded education program also takes advantage of integrated learning by using the STEAM based approach. Our students will engage in learning through journals and activities in the five specific disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. These disciplines are taught in a blended learning environment, allowing us to provide the best private school education in The Woodlands, TX.
We are also excited to introduce our Promethean interactive panel. To enhance learning in the classroom, our Private Kindergarten Program utilizes an Android-based interactive wall panel that is intelligently designed for the modern classroom.

Writing Curriculum
The WRITING curriculum components of balanced literacy:
A 10 minute mini-lesson builds students' skills and strategies that become part of the students' toolbox for writing. Students are then ready to practice the new skill or strategy during their own writing.
The students help with the writing process by writing a short book, labeling the classroom or pre-teaching for the next week’s writing lessons.
This area focuses on spelling principles. Some activities include sight words, parts of words, short vowel patterns, plurals, rhyming, syllables and so on.

Conscious Discipline
Conscious Discipline is a research-based comprehensive self-regulation program that combines social and emotional learning with discipline and guidance. Built on a foundation of current brain research, the school family is constructed from safety, connection, and problem-solving. The tools in our classrooms help create a school family where children feel safe, loved, and begin to problem-solve with the executive part of their brain on a regular basis.Conscious Discipline empowers adults to consciously respond to daily conflict, transforming it into an opportunity to teach critical life skills to children. The school family increases connections between adults and children at all levels, ensuring optimal development and learning for all. A school family culture is built through consistent modeling of routines, rituals, and structures.
The Brightwheel App
The Brightwheel app allows our teachers to communicate with parents throughout the day. Our parents are updated daily regarding diaper changes, meals, pictures, and the dispositions of our students.
Outdoor Play
Our private kindergarten students enjoy our outdoor play area at least twice a day. Each classroom has their own playground to enjoy with a soccer field, grass area, naturally shaded areas, climbing equipment, sandbox, basketball goal, putt-putt area, and much more!
Enrichment Program
Stepping Stones Preparatory Academy understands that each student is a unique individual who possesses a different kind of mind. Therefore, each student understands, performs, and remembers in different ways.
Our students have the opportunity to not only learn in the normal classroom setting but also rotate on a daily basis to other specialty rooms to enjoy learning through Spanish, physical education, music, and chapel.
